Dr Deepak is an experienced practicing Chest Physician of Respiratory Medicine, Interventional Pulmonology, Sleep Disorder and Critical Care Medicine besides being trained in Hospital Management.


He has diverse and extensive experience in hospital operations from the top three chains of India .Quest for knowledge took him to pursue & completed his Ph.D. – Lean Hospitals and holds patent on lean hospital Index (LHI).
At present he is Chief Consultant & Incharge : Department of Respiratory, Sleep Disorder & Critical Care Medical services, Manipal Hospitals. He is trained in healthcare systems with focus in hospital Management Operations.
His background is rich in diversity besides being a Clinician, in his previous assignment he was CEO and played a key role in restructuring and merger of family run traditional Soni Hospital by Manipal Hospitals before that worked as Medical Director with the largest flagship PPP Project – Metro Hospital Jaipur Government of Rajasthan.
He is undergraduate from Maulana Azad Medical College and Post graduate from V.P. Chest Institute, Delhi along with National Board fellowship in Respiratory & Critical Care Medicine. He also received his Sleep Medicine training from sleep Asia society, Singapore. He also holds MBA in Hospital management besides Master’s Degree, MHA from BITS Pilani & Bombay Hospital. Won the prestigious FICCI Healthcare Excellence award for operational Excellence on Six Sigma.
Established in 2012, lungkare Society involved in changing the face health care & developing the centers of medical excellence. Since its inception it has been guided by patient centric, empathy and integrity.

Contribution in the field of quality & Patient safety:
Apart from his clinical practice he is dedicated to finding ways to make hospitals safer & affordable for patients and operationally efficient for management, his papers on "18c Commandments, Manipal WAY have won top honors over the last one year. "Strived to establish effective, efficient & safe healthcare processes over the years in all organizations well documented by TQM ICU Project, CRM Profiling, Six Sigma and Lean Hospital Index has been my effort in this direction.
He is a member of many prestigious societies like National Academy of Medical Sciences, National college of Chest physician (NCCP) amongst others in and Society India and abroad European Society of Intensive care (ESICM).

He has been associated with leading private and public hospital chains & worked on positions of increasing responsibilities.

  • He has been associated with various hospitals in Delhi / NCR like Apollo Hospital then various units of Fortis Escorts Hospital for more than a decade.
  • He worked as Consultant in World Health Organization (WHO) and has been National coordinator for implementation of DOTS and DOTS PLUS in NCR in association with USAID and World Bank.
  • Medical Director & instrumental in setting the first PPP Project in health sector – Metro Hospital Jaipur in association with Government of Rajasthan, this would provide valuable inputs & open up many opportunities for future projects.

Deepak is known for his vision, strategic thinking, positive attitude and high energy levels and displays tremendous leadership qualities by focusing on mentoring and people development.
He has been keynote speaker & on the advisory board of GSK, Abott and Pfizer besides being Principle Investigator in numerous clinical & Epidemiological Trials including FDA supported HINI Study and worked closely on industry associations like CII for initiatives in Healthcare Industry.
